The Benefice Council brings together representatives from each of the six churches in our benefice:
St Thomas, Aslockton
St Mary and All Saints, Hawksworth
St Mary’s, Orston
St John of Beverley, Scarrington
St Helena, Thoroton
St John of Beverley, Whatton
Together, these churches form a community of faith serving our villages in the heart of rural Nottinghamshire. The Benefice Council exists to support and strengthen the shared life, mission, and ministry of our benefice.
The Council meets several times a year to:
Encourage collaboration and communication between our churches
Discuss matters that affect the benefice as a whole
Plan shared services, events, and outreach across the villages
Support our clergy and lay leaders in their ministry
Oversee shared resources and finances where appropriate
Each church is represented, usually drawn from the individual Parochial Church Councils (PCCs). While each PCC continues to make decisions for its own parish, the Benefice Council provides a place for shared vision, planning, and prayer.
Our hope is that, through friendship and faith, we can strengthen the life of all our churches and continue to be a blessing to the communities we serve.
