    Thinking About a Christening?

Whether you're celebrating the birth of a new baby, welcoming a child into the wider family, or exploring baptism for yourself or someone older, we are delighted you’re thinking about a christening.

A christening (also called baptism) is a joyful and significant occasion. It marks the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith and belonging — not just to God, but to the whole church family.

    What Is a Christening?

In a christening, we thank God for the gift of life and welcome the person being baptised into the Church of England. Promises are made to follow Jesus and grow in faith, and a special blessing is given.

It's a moment of hope, celebration, and community — and it’s open to people of all ages.

    Who Can Be Christened?

Everyone is welcome to be baptised. If you live in our parish or have a connection to our church, we’d love to talk to you about arranging a christening.

Babies and young children are usually brought for baptism by their parents and godparents. Older children and adults can also be baptised, with their own choice of sponsors or godparents.

Thinking About Getting Married in Church?

Congratulations on your engagement! We’re delighted you’re considering celebrating your marriage in a Church of England parish church.

    Why Choose a Church Wedding?

Getting married in church offers something special that you won’t find elsewhere. It's more than just a beautiful setting — it's about making your promises before God, your family, and friends, in a place filled with prayer, history, and community.

Whether you're a regular churchgoer or just exploring your options, you are very welcome here. We will work with you to create a ceremony that reflects your love, your hopes for the future, and your personal story.

    Can I Get Married Here?

You can usually marry in a Church of England parish church if you have a connection to the church — for example, if you live in the parish, have previously lived here, or if your parents were married here. Even if you don’t have a direct link at the moment, we can guide you through ways to establish a qualifying connection.

    Funerals

    Arranging a Funeral

If you’ve recently lost someone you love, please accept our deepest sympathy. Whether the death was expected or sudden, in this time of grief, remembrance, and reflection we are here to walk with you.

    A Christian Funeral for Everyone

You don’t need to be a churchgoer or have a strong religious background to have a church funeral.
We offer this ministry to anyone in our parish, and to those who have a connection with our church.

    Planning the Service

We will meet with you to gently guide you through every part of the service, helping you to choose readings, hymns or songs, and any tributes you would like to include. We are here to help you say goodbye in the way that feels right. If the person who died had a faith, we’ll help honour that. If you're not sure what they would have wanted, we can help you make choices that reflect love, dignity, and respect.

    After the Funeral

Grief doesn’t end at the funeral.
We’re here for you in the days, weeks, and months that follow — whether you need someone to talk to, a quiet place to pray, or simply to know you're not alone.
